With the North Sea coast and endless dunes a mere 3km away, nature enthusiasts can cycle and walk for hours, enjoying the peace and beauty. The sandy beach stretches for as far as the eye can see and is a wonderful place to relax. Looking for action? Try your hand at sailing.Bakkum is close to a number of major cities and tourist attractions in North Holland. Alkmaar, Haarlem, and Amsterdam are all within 35 km. For a smaller scale traditional ambiance, visit towns such as Edam, Volendam and Monnickendam, quaintly located on the IJsselmeer.
Travel information
By car from Amsterdam: Follow the A 9 direction of Alkmaar. Take exit number 10 (Castricum/Uitgeest/Zaandam). Turn right at the traffic lights. Now you follow the local road N203 to Castricum. At the second set of lights you turn left, still following the sign of Castricum (N513). You have to go to the right side of the road, direction Castricum aan Zee. Take the roundabout 3/4 of the way, direction Bakkum. Go straight ahead and after 200 meters you see Hotel Borst on your left hand side (parking is on your right).

Our French style restaurant is open from Friday to Tuesday. During the day and in the evening you are welcome in our bar for a drink or a snack.
