Loading Rates...Reserve a room at the Conacul Zaicesti for your trip to northeast Romania. This historic Moldavia hotel has a peaceful location in the countryside, 9 km/5.6 miles outside the cultural centre of Botoșani. The Conacul Zaicesti (Romanian for Zaicesti Manor) was the residence of George Filipescu, a boyar, or member of the landed aristocracy, in the 19th century. It has been renovated for use as a hotel, and today guests enjoy the house’s refined elegance and landscaped gardens. Hearty dishes of traditional Romanian cuisine, such as fried lamb and skewers, are served in the restaurant or out on the covered patio in warm weather. The hotel is located a short drive from Botoșani, one of the cultural centres of northern Moldavia. It has a history as a market town that goes back to before the 16th century, and many celebrated Romanians were born or lived there, including Mihai Eminescu, widely regarded as the country’s greatest and most influential poet; the historian Nicolae Iorga (sometimes spelled Nicolas Jorga); and mathematician and philosopher Octav Onicescu. The city is home to a number of small museums, several historic churches, and the renowned Botoşani State Philharmonic. From the city centre it’s 30.5 km/19.0 miles to Suceava Airport, also called Ştefan cel Mare.
