Hotel Zarja is surrounded by the Pohorje Hills at about 1200 metres above sea level, in a tranquil and beautiful area which is ideal for both active and relaxing holidays. The family-run hotel in chalet-style has an interesting wood and stone architecture and it offers comfortable accommodation with modern equipment, keeping a high standard. The apartments have spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Hotel Zarja is only 3 km from some of the greatest slopes in Slovenia and behind the hotel the cross-country skiing track can be accessed. In the summertime you can enjoy cycling, hiking and horse-back riding along magnificent paths. Picking medicinal herbs, mushrooms and forest fruits is also attracting more and more visitors.

Travel information

Hotel Zarja is located on the Maribor - Areh main road. From the direction of Ljubljana: - take the exit Maribor-jug (Maribor South)- in the village of Hoče turn left in the direction of Areh - Bellevue- at crossroads Areh - Bellevue turn left in the direction of Areh- at the traffic sign Zarja turn right to the road that leads towards the hotel.From the direction of Zagreb:- in the village of Miklavž take the highway to Ljubljana and leave it at the first exit (Rogoza)- at the crossroads turn right in the direction of Pohorje - take the road towards the village Hoče - at the crossroads Areh - Bellevue turn left in the direction of Areh- at the traffic sign Zarja turn right to the road that leads towards the hotel.From the direction of Šentilj (Graz, Austria): - take the bypass road through Maribor in the direction of Ljubljana- at the crossroads in Hoče turn right towards Pohorje- follow directions above

Hotel Zarja’s restaurant is comfortable and spacious, seating up to 60 guests. It has an outer terrace and is well suited for celebrating diverse events or having business meetings. The modern cuisine has many traditional local elements in it, and authentic, homemade mushroom soup, game, buckwheat and delicious berry fruits from the nearby forest all contribute to the unique taste of the Pohorje region’s cuisine.
