A self proclaimed “place of rest” in the heart of the Garden Route, this lodge is nestled between the town of Knysna and the famous Knysna Heads.The staff will endeavour to ensure that the hotel features a relaxing atmosphere. With its tranquil, indigenous parkland setting, here you can escape from the hustle and bustle, so much so it is difficult to imagine that you are only 5 minutes from the centre of town.Yet, the location allows for easy access to the many attractions in the area, from playing golf at one of the many world-class courses, to dining out, or if you are feeling adventurous, hiking on one of the many trails in the area. The range of activities is extensive. The lodge also offers a delectable “tree-top” breakfast, a sparkling, rim-flow swimming pool and your own private entrance and balcony.

We are in close proximity to the centre of town, fine restaurants, the Knysna Heads, world-class golf courses, a bird sanctuary, hiking trails, beautiful beaches, the elephant park and monkey world.
Travel information
By Car:- On the eastern side of town, turn off the N2 into George Rex Drive which leads to the Heads and Leisure Isle.- Follow this road for 2.4 km then turn left into Howard St. with the golf course now on the right.- Follow this road, then take the 1st left into Hunters Estate Drive and turn immediately right into Lindsay Street.- The lodge is 300 metres further along on the right.

The lodge houses 5 beautifully finished and comfortable rooms. There are 3 twin rooms with en suite showers, one double room with an en suite shower and one double room with a full en suite bathroom. All of the rooms include a private balcony overlooking the garden and sparkling pool. Guests are welcome to use the communal kitchenette in the utility room.

It’s set in a peaceful garden outside of Knysna, about 33 km west of Plettenberg Bay. The Pumula Lodge offers five individually decorated guest rooms. Each one has a private balcony overlooking the garden and the outdoor swimming pool. Guests are invited to make use of the communal kitchenette and to enjoy a “tree-top” breakfast among the birds. The lodge is a favourite destination for birders touring the Cape Birding Route. More than 100 bird species have been identified in the indigenous garden surrounding the lodge, and the lodge itself is recognized as a birder-friendly establishment. Even more birds can be spotted at the nearby Woodbourne Bird Sanctuary. The lodge is also conveniently located close to the town centre, Knysna Golf Club, Pezula Golf Club, and the Knysna Heads. The Knysna Elephant Park is a short drive away. Pets are not allowed. Children over 10 years of age are welcome. |
