Positioned on the edge of a cliff, Acra-Retreat is situated on the border of the Elands Krans Nature Reserve. It features a seasonal outdoor pool and a fitness centre.Horse riding, mountain climbing, abseiling and spa treatments can be arranged at the reception. The area abounds in birdlife, including species like owls, swallows and guinea fowls.All rooms offer a private entrance to the decks with mountains views. Each room is fitted with a flat-screen TV and satellite channels. Tea/coffee facilities, a safe, and fan are standard.Acra-Retreat Mountain View Lodge has a fully licensed pub. Sundowners can also be enjoyed on the deck, and dinners are served on request.The hotel is located on the way to the Kruger Park, 2.5 hour’s drive from Johannesburg. From Johannesburg:Take the N12 direction Witbank. This mergers with the N4 from Pretoria direction Nelspruit/Belfast. The exit to Waterval Boven is about 5 km from the Machodo Plaza Toll. In Waterval Boven: Drive under the railway bridge. At the third stop sign turn right, direction Hospital. Pass Hospital. The next entrance on the left is Acra Retreat Mountain View Lodge. From Pretoria: Take the N4 direction Nelspruit. From Nelspruit: Take the N4 direction Machadodorp. After going through the tunnel turn left at the Waterval Boven exit.

Acra-Retreat **Mountain View Lodge** is situated on the edge of a cliff. The eleven-hectare property is on the border of the Elands Krans Nature Reserve. The views are absolutely stunning.  There is an abundance of bird life, including owls, swallows, Loeries, guinea fowl just to name a few. One can watch the monkeys on the adjacent cliffs, sunning themselves or playing on the rocks. Steam train rides, trout fishing, mountain biking, stone circle viewing, abseiling, mountain climbing, paragliding and horse riding can be arranged.  The rooms are luxurious and welcoming. Each room has a view and own door on to the outside deck.  Safe parking is guaranteed. Acra Retreat has its own fully licensed pub. Sundowners can also be enjoyed on the deck whilst watching the magnificent display of colours on the mountains as the sun slowly sets.There is a gym, trampoline and a swimming pool. Dinners are served on request. Acra Retreat specialise in home-cooking and are famous for their delicious fillet steaks, home made bread and Sunday roasts.  The hosts speak German, Dutch, English and Afrikaans.Emphasis is laid upon peace and tranquility. Braai facilities are available.   Acra Retreat also arranges trips to the Kruger Park, the stone circles, and The Panorama Route Blyde River Canyon, Roukes Potholes. It is also a perfect stop-over for International tourists, being only 2 hours drive away from Johannesburg, and half-way to the Kruger Park.
