The most beautiful destinations in the Bernese Highlands are easily accessible from here by train or car. The picturesque village of Wilderswil, only 3 km from Interlaken, is the ideal starting point, at any time of the year, for excursions, hikes, sport and adventures. Excursions to the Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn or Piz Gloria, or a boat trips on the Thun and Brienz lakes are just a selection from the numerous options for a day trip. The imposing Trümmelbach waterfall, the St Beaus prehistoric caves, the Aare gorge and the open air Ballenberg museum are just a short bus or train ride away. It is also an ideal centre for winter sports.
