Formerly known as Hotel Restaurant Burgener, the Helvetia Hotel in Zermatt is conveniently located on Bahnhofstraße, the Alpine town's main street, close to the train station and the cable car. Shopping and nightlife venues are literally at the doorstep of this affordable Zermatt accommodation so entertainment is made easy. Despite the name change, at the Helvetia Hotel the outstanding kitchen team and the perfect location in the center of the ski resort of Zermatt remain unchanged. With 50 seats, the restaurant's larger dining room enjoys an attractive view on the bustling main street and there is a second more informal room, seating up to 40 people. Over the last few years, the restaurant has become a firm favorite with tourists and locals alike. A new addition in the dining section is the exclusively Swiss wine list. Please consider that Zermatt is car free. By car, you can only reach the town of Täsch, 3 miles/5 km before Zermatt. There, you can leave your vehicle in one of the multi-storey car parks, some of which do also offer outdoor parking spaces, as well as a taxi service to and from Zermatt. Also, the shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway between Täsch and Zermatt run in 20-minute intervals.
