This unusual hotel is housed within the ancient rock formations of Çavuşin, near Goreme, offering a unique and authentic experience.In the 1950s, the old village of Çavuşin was abandoned due to the heavy erosion of the surrounding area. Now, having been stabilised, The Village Cave Hotel offers 6 rooms and a restaurant amid this stunning natural landscape, with much of it carved out of the rock itself.The present owner of the hotel, Halım Oz, is the grandson of the previous owner and was born in The Village Cave Hotel. Having spent a lifetime in the area, he is able to offer endless information and advice about the Cappadocia area. The hotel therefore offers a number of activities and tours of the region, so that you can get the most from your stay.

Area information

The Village Cave Hotel is situated in the small village of Çavuşin, right in the heart of Cappadocia, 2 km from Goreme Town and 3 km from the UNESCO World Heritage listed Goreme Open Air Museum. It is a further 3 km from the famous Fairy Chimneys in the Zelve Valley, whilst the Red and Rose Valleys are within 2 km of the hotel.

Travel information

By Air:There are regular domestic flights between Istanbul and 2 airports in Cappadocia, the Nevsehir and Kayseri airports. Nevsehir Airport is about 30 minutes away and Kayseri Airport 60 minutes. The hotel provides regular shuttle services from Kayseri Airport (at an additional cost), with different locations considered on request. For for information, please contact the hotel after making your reservation.By Car:From Nevsehir (13 km):- Follow signs for Goreme-Avanos.- After you drive past Goreme, you will be in Çavuşin after a further 2.5 km.- Follow the road signs to The Village Cave.

Food & beverage

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the rock-cut restaurant during winter, and outdoors on the terrace during summer, with a magnificent view of the St. John the Baptist church in the Old Town. All meals are prepared from natural village products.

Room information

All of the rooms have a natural, neutral rock or stone decor. They are Turkish in style and have typically Turkish furnishings. The rooms are either totally carved from the surrounding rock, or a combination of rock and stone walls, some of which are at the end of a comfortable 30-metre tunnel with a tiny natural spring running in a small open canal at the side. You will find the comfort and convenience that you would expect to find at any other hotel, with an added atmosphere of mystery and authenticity.
