Kayaköy was once called Karmylassos in antiquity (as a Lycian city). It was then known as Levisse until 1923, when the majority of the population was of Greek origin. It is now commonly known as Kaya.Gemiler beach is the nearest beach, a natural bay and just 8 km away from the village. The beach at Ölüdeniz is 10 km away. Elsewhere, the Hisarönü holiday resort is a 4 km journey.If you like walking, you can trek along the marked footpaths, or also join in with the guided tours.

Misafir Evi uses only seasonal organic fruit and vegetables from its own gardens, as well as those ingredients which it purchases from local villagers’ gardens.The meat comes from local Kayaköy live stock, which is fed on the Kayaköy mountains.Only extra virgin cold press olive oil is used, which is also produced locally. Misafir Evi supports local livelihoods through its purchase of village produce. Any organic products which the hotel cannot produce itself are obtained solely from local villagers - even the bread is made using locally wheat and oat flour.
