Our history

hotelguide.com ag was established in 1991. It started as a yearly published international hotel directory distributed to travel agents worldwide. With the years, hotelguide.com became more and more digital and its website was soon widely recognized as a leading international hotel booking platform. To meet our users’ needs, we now provide a portfolio of travel products and services working with many of the industry’s most successful suppliers.

 

Ownership

hotelguide.com is owned by a private Swiss syndicate of investors.

 

Product/Service portfolio

hotelguide.com offers a broad selection of hotels, flights and car rentals worldwide at extremely competitive rates.

  • Hotels: We offer more than 120,000 hotels worldwide. Our primary target groups are the corporate and leisure travelers around the world. We cooperate with the world’s leading brands including, hotels.com, hotel.de, priceline.com, travelweb.com, activehotels, booking.com, WorldRes, Sabre, Worldspan und Pegasus.
  • Flights (planned): This segment consists of a selection of over 2 million of international flight connections with the best fares. Our users have a selection of regular, low-cost and charter flights.
  • Car rental (planned): Our car rental segment guarantees our customers the best available service at exclusive rates. Our portfolio of providers includes the top international and well-reputed car rental companies as well as some local car rental agencies.
  • Shop-Solution (planned): Our users can benefit from this innovative one-stop-shop booking solution with a comprehensive range of offers in the various travel segments and book their trip to any destination in one single step. 

Technology

Our platform offers a sophisticated technology solution based on a consolidation application. This technology incorporates various online travel platforms and our system filters out in each travel segment the cheapest offer available to our users. 

 

Management Team

  • Bruno Gabriel: Delegate of the Board & Group CEO

Bruno Gabriel was the founder of ALSO, the largest hardware/software company in Switzerland, which he successfully took to an IPO in 1986 and subsequently sold. As a result of hotelguide.com’s private placement in 2000, Bruno joined the company as CEO and remains, together with the other syndicate members, a major investor in the company. He is also on the board of various Swiss companies.

  • Daniel Vogel: COO

Daniel Vogel worked the last 15 years as an expert in marketing and in the hotel industry, with focus on distribution and communication. In the early 90’s Daniel worked for the Supranational Hotel Group and was appointed later as Corporate Director of Marketing for the Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts. He joined hotelguide.com in the spring of 2000. Daniel graduated from the University of Basel and holds a bachelor degree in International Tourism Management and a Master degree of Science in Marketing.

  • Slava Stefanov: Chief Information Officer

Slava Stefanov worked in IT industry during 17 years on different positions. He started working for hotelguide.com in 2007. Slava graduated Moscow University with degree Master of Science in Maths. 

  • Andrew Usov: VP Information Technology

Andrew Usov graduated from St. Petersburg State University, Russia. Andrew worked for various European and US companies and has experience in process analysis, software development and management. He is responsible at hotelguide.com for the whole process of IT projects, development and maintenance, including technical integrations with booking service providers and consolidated partners as well as for the coordination of structural units of IT and Development departments.
